HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PETS SURGERY

  • Call to schedule the necessary procedure at either location.
  • Ask your receptionist about options available with surgical procedures:

Procedures:

  • Pre-Operative Bloodwork - We recommend this procedure to analyze white blood cells, check for anemia/dehydration/infection and in animals over 7 years of age we do an additional screen to check vital organ function
  • ECG Screening - Detects abnormalities of the heart which may be otherwise undetectable
  • Post-Op Pain Medication - Administered prior to the patient coming out of anesthesia, this treatment
  • Take Home Pain Medication - Oral medication administered for 3-5 days following surgery
  • Absorbable Sutures - Eliminates the need for a return visit in 10 days
  • Laser Therapy - Post-op treatment to speed healing while reducing pain, swelling, bleeding and inflammation

Pre-Preparation:

  • On the night before your pet's scheduled procedure, make sure you withhold food after 10pm (water is fine)
  • Bring your pet in on the day of surgery at the time you discussed with the receptionist when you scheduled the appointment
  • Most routine surgery patients are released between 4:30-5:00pm the same day
